Caradon Wood was bequeathed to the Woodland Trust by Dennis Arbon. This 40-acre ancient oak woodland is leased to, and sustainably managed by Greenwood Music CIC. Whilst managing the wellbeing of the woods, we are able to offer wellbeing programmes for a wide range of participants from all walks of life. Caradon Wood is nestled in a beautiful and lush Cornish valley, with the River Lyhner flowing along its eastern boundary for over one mile. The woodland is primarily made up of oak, with a wide variety of other indigenous trees. The wood has a diverse ecosystem with many rare plants, fungi and invertebrates. You can wander through the woods and catch sight of deer, badger, foxes as well as a wide variety of woodland birds. The woodlands are managed sympathetically with as little intervention as possible to maintain this unique ancient woodland and its complex and symbiotic ecosystem.
