Stay In Touch

With Crafting PLUS and Being PLUS, the adventure continues with an overnight experience. You can explore the woods, take a dip in the river, hang out in the hammock and generally immerse yourself in this beautiful environment. A wholesome dinner will be prepared for you and shared around the crackling fire before bedding down in a bell tent on the meadow, or a hanging tree tent by the river.  You’ll only need your clothes, snacks and bedding of choice: dinner and breakfast, bell tents with camp beds and wood burner, or tree tents are included.  We have plenty of seating around the open fire, a covered a-frame with tables, hammocks and easy access to drinking water and composting toilets.

With Just Stay you have access to all the facilities including the bell tents and composting toilets, along with the open fire including a tripod, cooking grill and large kettle! So, in addition to your clothes and bedding, you’ll also need to bring your food, cutlery, plates and bowls.

We are part of nature – not apart from it- and as more of us look to foster our connection with the natural world, we invite you to join us in the woods, to learn how to craft and create among the abundant wildlife, with ample time to explore the winding paths, dip into the cooling river and relax around the fire – while sharing good food and great stories. As 50% of our profit is re-invested into social purpose programmes you are also giving towards providing Wellbeing in Nature opportunities to marginalised individuals, especially those with multiple and complex needs, who often experience isolation and loneliness.

Always make time for being

Being

We all need to look after our mental health, and we also know that simply ‘being in nature’ works wonders: validated in recent years by much research.  The sounds, the scents and the majesty of the trees, conspire to calm; nature helps us access the time that we may need to think things through. In Japan, such forest bathing or Shinrin-yoku is a recognised form of eco-therapy and its benefits are gaining recognition around the world.

Being PLUS

Greenwood Craft in action

Crafting

Fancy carving your very own spoon or knife? Or maybe you’re up for the challenge of crafting a three-legged stool! Whatever your ambition, we’re here to help you transform green wood into a treasured possession or impressive gift. Under the guidance of our experienced tutors, you’ll learn how to safely use traditional hand tools including a shave horse, drawknives and axes. Greenwood craft is the age-old method of making practical and beautiful objects from freshly cut ‘green’ wood and it’s all part of a present-day drive towards sympathetic conservation and sustainable woodland management.
